1.例證匱乏,老生常談。在闡述思想觀點(diǎn)之后,缺乏有力的例證去支持所闡述觀點(diǎn)?;蛘呖偸且妹總€(gè)人都耳熟能詳?shù)睦C,例如目前最流行的例證有兩個(gè)B 和兩個(gè)E,兩個(gè)B即Bill Gates和Bill Clinton。兩個(gè)E即Einstein和Edison。并不是這些例證不恰當(dāng)或不足以說(shuō)明問(wèn)題,而是如果每一位GRE考生都把愛(ài)迪生發(fā)明電燈作為例 證,都引用愛(ài)因斯坦所說(shuō)的成功是百分之九十九的勤勞加上百分之一的天分,那么自己的文章就顯得平庸乏味,不吸引人。同時(shí),也說(shuō)明考生的知識(shí)面狹窄,視野不 開(kāi)闊。

4. 畫(huà)龍莫忘點(diǎn)睛,切忌虎頭蛇尾。還有一個(gè)非常關(guān)鍵也是獲得高分至關(guān)重要的問(wèn)題是寫(xiě)作最后一段時(shí)不應(yīng)該只是簡(jiǎn)單的重復(fù)第一段的內(nèi)容和語(yǔ)言。寫(xiě)作最后一段應(yīng)該換 一種說(shuō)法,應(yīng)該paraphrase第一段的要義。這點(diǎn)雖然與及格分?jǐn)?shù)不甚相關(guān),但是與GRE作文是否能獲得最高分?jǐn)?shù)息息相關(guān)。這個(gè)弱點(diǎn)往往是由于同學(xué)們 非常缺乏寫(xiě)作語(yǔ)匯(working vocabulary)所致。GRE考生大都是大學(xué)生,或是在校,或是即將畢業(yè),在閱讀方面的英文詞匯量大大超過(guò)了中學(xué)生,但在寫(xiě)作詞匯上卻與中學(xué)生相差 不多,這是在備考時(shí)需要解決的問(wèn)題。

如何解決上述問(wèn)題,這里簡(jiǎn)述幾條建議:

1.有的放矢,充分準(zhǔn)備。在備考過(guò)程中要多準(zhǔn)備例子,并把它們一一寫(xiě)下來(lái),進(jìn)行分類(lèi)。一個(gè)例子往往可以應(yīng)對(duì)好幾個(gè)同類(lèi)的題目,這樣做是效率最高的辦法。

2.萬(wàn)事開(kāi)頭難,邁出第一步。我們都害怕寫(xiě)作文,想到要練習(xí)寫(xiě)一整篇文章,往往就沒(méi)有了信心。其實(shí)我們可以從練習(xí)寫(xiě)作開(kāi)頭段,然后設(shè)計(jì)文章的提綱開(kāi) 始。寫(xiě)開(kāi)頭段能夠讓我們以輕松一點(diǎn)的心情著手GRE寫(xiě)作的準(zhǔn)備,并且迅速了解所有的題目,因?yàn)镚RE的題目數(shù)量是固定的。
