　　The most important thing about talking on the phone is being polite. People say a lot of polite words.

　　You might say "May I please speak to John?".

　　Even though you might be calling John’s personal cellphone.

　　即使在打私人電話的時(shí)候，也這樣說。

　　1. Asking to speak with someone

　　打電話找人

　　May I (please) speak to Jack?

　　請(qǐng)找一下Jack(我可以和Jack通電話嗎?)

　　Could you put me through to MR.Zhao in the Sales Department?

　　您能幫我把電話轉(zhuǎn)接給銷售部的趙先生嗎?

　　Please hold. I’m putting you through to the customer service department.

　　請(qǐng)稍等，我這就給您轉(zhuǎn)接到客服部。

　　Could you put me through? It’s kind of urgent.

　　您能幫我轉(zhuǎn)一下嗎?有急事。

　　2. Asking for a name

　　詢問對(duì)方是誰，哪里打來?

　　May I ask who’s calling?

　　請(qǐng)問您是哪位?

　　Is he expecting your call?

　　他在等您的電話嗎?

　　I cannot connect you to MR. Zhao if he’s not expecting your call.

　　如果趙先生沒有等您的電話，我不能給您轉(zhuǎn)接到他那里。

　　I called to surprise him. He’s not expecting my call.

　　我打電話過來想要給他一個(gè)驚喜，他沒有在等我的電話。

　　May I ask what it is regarding?

　　我能問一下打電話是關(guān)于什么事嗎?

　　3. Then you’ve found the person you are looking for…, you should say the reason why you are calling.

　　找到您需要找的人之后呢，就要表明打電話的原因了。

　　I’m calling in sick.

　　我打電話是請(qǐng)病假。

　　I’m calling because I need an extra blanket.

　　我打電話是因?yàn)槲倚枰嗉右粭l毯子。

　　I’m calling in regards to Mr. Zhao’s personal finances.

　　我打電話是想問一下有關(guān)趙先生的個(gè)人財(cái)務(wù)情況。

　　I’m calling you today in regards to your job.

　　今天打給你是想問問你的工作的事。

　　最后，來看看我們大家很少注意的細(xì)節(jié)吧。

　　1. 除非你確知對(duì)方是"夜貓族"，否則不要深夜跟他打電話。早晨太早打電話也是不禮貌的。一般說來，打電話最適當(dāng)?shù)臅r(shí)間是上午九點(diǎn)以后到晚上九點(diǎn)半以前。

　　2. 電話響了六響(six rings)還沒有人接，不是對(duì)方不在家，就是他不方便接，或甚至不愿意接，最好是把它掛斷了。

　　3. 最后，如果你打電話時(shí)預(yù)知這通電話不可能三言兩語就結(jié)束，最好先問對(duì)方: "Is this a convenient time to talk?"(現(xiàn)在講電話方便嗎?)免得對(duì)方正有急務(wù)待理，或有客人在旁，又須聽你長時(shí)間電話，造成尷尬場面。
