Unexpectedly, one year, the four-pillars supporting the heaven suddenly collapsed and the earth cracked.

A great fire raged; torrential water flooded all the lands;fierce animals preyed on men. Then Nuwa melted five-colored stones, using them to mend the cracks in the sky.

To replace the broken pillars, she cut off the four legs of a huge turtle and used them to support the fallen sky.

The achievements of China's reform have established a firm foundation for deepening reform. Politically, China has adopted the principle of "governing the country according to law." China's economy is vitalized, and people's living conditions have been improved. China enjoys a stable political environment and makes rapid progress in economic construction.
However, the road of deepening reform is uneven (不平坦). Further reform means overcoming rooted defects in our political structure and changing unreasonable factors in economic structure, so it will run up against all kinds of resistances and difficulties. Some old perceptions (觀念) and conventional ideology (傳統(tǒng)的意識(shí)形態(tài)) are still influential. And not all people welcome further reform.
To strengthen our country we must continue making our efforts to deepen reform. The depth of reform, to some extent, determines the future development of our country. We ought to take full advantage of the best development period, adhere to(堅(jiān)持) government policy and accelerate(加快) the speed of reform to attain our goals.

Pangu： According to legend, in the beginning of the world, the sky and the earth were not separated, and there was only darkness and chaos.
盤古開(kāi)天辟地:很早很早以前，天和地還沒(méi)有分開(kāi)，宇宙只是混沌一片。
Our ancestor Pangu，a giant, had been born and growing up in it for 108 000 years. One day, he suddenly woke up. Opening the eyes, he found that everything was blurred and invisible.
人類的老祖宗——盤古是一個(gè)巨人，就生長(zhǎng)在這混沌之中，一直經(jīng)過(guò)了十萬(wàn)八千年。有一天，盤古忽然醒了過(guò)來(lái)睜開(kāi)眼睛一看，模糊一片，什么都看不見(jiàn)。
Angrily, he grasped an axe and wielded it with an effort. With a bang, the chaos was split all of a sudden.

His flesh became the soil, his hair and furs the stars, flowers and trees. Even his sweat turned into rain and dew.
