  雅思大作文范文:Natural Talents

It is possible that genetics as nature and environment as nurture are not mutuallyexclusive. This assumption may explain in part the different levels of personal ability in music, art, sport and so on. In other words, good training is as important as natural talents.

From one point of view, being born with special gifts is certainly an advantage. What tells adifference is the innate talent which may be something that cannot be taught, and somethingmoney cannot buy. That is to say, without such born talent, no matter how good the teacher isor how frequently a person practices, there is little hope for him or her to become an excellentmusician, artist, or sports player. Underlying this view is the fact that there is more to anatural skill than a learned technique. Indeed, some people do have talents that are probablyinherited via their genes, allowing them to excel in specific fields. In comparison, more hard-working students are likely to find it next to impossible to reach as high a level as desired.

Nevertheless, from the other point of view, it seems that in right environment, practice wouldmake perfect. Hard work could make a difference in children who are motivated to be aiminghigh in whatever discipline, including music, art or sport. At school, plenty of exceptionalexamples are found as evidence to support the claim that a child can acquire specific skillsthrough continuous training under appropriate guidance. This implies the importance oflearning with natural gifts or without. Further, it may be said that gifted persons would remainonly gifted persons if their talents were not developed properly. Actually, the currenteducation systems are based on the belief that all children can be taught to learn different skills, however demanding.

As a conclusion, any child can be trained to different degrees to become professionals, but tobe really good in such areas as music, art and sport, then probably certain talents are required. The innate ability is always a plus, but it does not mean that the born talent is itself aguarantee for success. Nor does it indicate that, for not being born with certain talents, people should not at all learn particular skills.

  雅思大作文范文:小孩子該學習競爭還是合作?

Entering the 21st century, well-educated peoplecan enjoy more prosperity and social progress. Itis believed that a orrect ay of education can mould achild to become a promising human resource in the future. Nowadays, a debate arises uponompetition or co-operation, which should be stressed in school.

Learning to compete can cultivate one's attitude of optimism.(topic sentence) It is wellknown that competition in society is intense. No company or person can escape failures.Since experiencing many failures in competition with their peers in school, these people havebuilt up enough courage to face up to all difficulties they may encounter in the workplace or intheir personal lives. Undoubtedly, a course of competition can help children overcome theirfears of getting access to society thus getting well prepared for social life in the future.

On the other hand, learning how to co-operate with others can help you become moresuccessful. (topic sentence) Some big firms' strategy is to win big in the global marketplacewhere it is increasingly difficult to compete without partners. Likewise, a person who lacks ofthe spirit of team or social skills to get well around with other people may not be able to adaptto working with colleagues. This is a fatal weakness particularly for great projects which cannever be completed by an individual person.

In conclusion, I believe that both competition and co-operation are indispensable forleading a normal social life. Therefore, both essential skills should be put forward to educatechildren in school.

  雅思大作文范文:“師”從電腦還是師從真人

People’s views on the advantages and disadvantages of learning from computers and fromhuman teachers vary from person to person. While some people believe that learning fromcomputers is more convenient and more economical than learning from human teachers, there are others who hold that learning with the help of human teachers can ensure betterlearning effect. On a personal note, I argue that these two approaches both have positive andnegative aspects and thereby a combination of these two approaches of learning is the bestpolicy.

First, nowadays with the development of computer science, we use computers almost in everyaspect of our life, especially in education. Some people predict that one day computers will takethe place of human teachers. Is that true? It is true that it is both convenient and economicalto learn this way. For example, we can listen to online lectures without leaving our homes andcan stop at any time we want. We can also take free courses on the Internet. But we also haveto admit that if we have doubts and problems while we are listening to the on-line lecture, whichis sure to happen from time to time, no one can help us out right away. To solve this problem, what we need to do is perhaps to send e-mails and then wait for the reply for days or even forweeks. However, we don’t have to face such problems if we learn from human teachers as theycan help us out all at once. Also, they can adjust their teaching process according to how wellwe can follow them, that is, they can adapt their teaching methods to suit our actual levels.

While learning from human teachers does possess many an advantage, it is also a fact that wewill have to go to school everyday and in so doing, we will have to spend a lot of time travelingto and from schools, thus suffering from traffic jams and all the other kinds of inconveniences.

As a whole, both computer teachers and human teachers have their advantages anddisadvantages in their own special and unique way. Therefore, I’m sure they will exist side byside in the future. This means that it is most advisable for us to combine these two ways oflearning.
