　　文中的first date就是“首次約會(huì)”的意思，其中date作名詞，意為“約會(huì)”，如：keep a date(赴約)，在美國(guó)口語(yǔ)中，也可指“約會(huì)對(duì)象或舞伴”，如：He asked her to be his date for the school dance.(他請(qǐng)她在學(xué)校的舞會(huì)上做他的舞伴。)
