My determination to study engineering comes from my desire to seek a challenge. In life, there seems to be no bigger challenge than to learn and find out how things work. In our modern world, engineering plays a big role in the foundations of technology and knowledge and this is what I am interested in.
As my year 12 progressed, my interest in science and Maths, particularly Physics developed. Studying Physics at Advanced level allows me to think about how things move and react to forces and how these properties can be used in solving both practical and theoretical situations. Maths interests me as it develops my problem solving skills, allowing me to apply familiar concepts to unfamiliar situations. My enthusiasm towards these subjects encouraged me to take up AS Further Maths. In doing so, I hope to expand my knowledge to achieve a level of understanding satisfactory to a potential degree level student. In addition to Physics and Maths, I am also studying Biology which provides me with the opportunity to develop my practical skills as I am required to work within groups. My communication skills have been put to the test during these lessons and I have proved many times that I am a team player.
After much research, I decided to attend taster courses at City University and Queen Mary University of London to experience what engineering involves. These informative taster courses offered me a unique chance to understand and to observe different areas of engineering which subsequently led me to the decision to pursue mechanical engineering. Its ability to allow me to see how things work fascinates me and furthermore, as mechanical engineering is a diverse field, it will allow me to learn and use many skills which can be transferred onto many employment opportunities.
Although I have enjoyed the challenge that my school-based work has given me, I have always sought to extend my knowledge. Recently, I built a computer. I discovered how each component is connected and how one energy source is converted into another. This has allowed me to apply the theory I learn within the curriculum to real situations. Furthermore, I was able to see how the components fit together by taking apart unwanted pieces from my old computer.
I have always been willing to give my time to take part in activities such as volunteering. I once raised money for the Marie Curie foundation. During this period, I improved my communication skills and confidence as I met and talked to many members of the community. I found that this experience was rewarding and fulfilling. I am a trusted member of my year group and when asked to be an ambassador for my sixth form, I accepted. This experience allowed me to demonstrate my organisation and communicational skills as I was required to confidently guide and talk to many potential students to the college. In addition, throughout my academic career, I have played an active role in a variety of different extracurricular activities. I am an adept musician and passed my grade 4 examinations in flute. Although I have decided to discontinue the examinations, every year during events such as Chinese New Year, I play the flute for my local Chinese community.
I believe that success as an engineer in a modern society requires a combination of management, communication and business skills. Therefore, with my previous experiences, focused attitude and will for success, I have the ability and motivation to meet the demands of studying at degree level. The prospect of studying engineering excites me, and I feel confident that I will make contributions to university life.

應(yīng)屆碩士畢業(yè)生須出具已獲得攻讀博士學(xué)位入學(xué)通知書、免學(xué)費(fèi)或者獲得學(xué)費(fèi)的資助證明。
進(jìn)行網(wǎng)上報(bào)名申請(qǐng)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金或資金補(bǔ)助國(guó)家公費(fèi)留學(xué)獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金申請(qǐng)?jiān)斀獬鰢?guó)留學(xué)。然后向總領(lǐng)館教育組遞交一份打印的申請(qǐng)材料。他說，這些申請(qǐng)人的材料在教育組初審之后，將匯總遞交給國(guó)家留學(xué)基金委員會(huì)，專家對(duì)申請(qǐng)人進(jìn)行評(píng)審后公布錄取結(jié)果。根據(jù)規(guī)定，所有的自費(fèi)生一旦被批準(zhǔn)為公派留學(xué)生將與基金委簽署一個(gè)協(xié)議，協(xié)議設(shè)定有回國(guó)的服務(wù)期限，如果不能履行合約就算違約，須退還學(xué)費(fèi)。
公派留學(xué)關(guān)于申請(qǐng)人的要求
博士研究生申請(qǐng)時(shí)年齡不超過35歲具有碩士學(xué)位，或申請(qǐng)時(shí)為應(yīng)屆本科畢業(yè)生，或在讀碩士生(含應(yīng)屆碩士畢業(yè)生)或博士一年級(jí)學(xué)生。
碩士研究生申請(qǐng)時(shí)年齡不超過30歲，具有學(xué)士學(xué)位或優(yōu)秀本科畢業(yè)生，身體健康，表現(xiàn)良好。
訪問學(xué)者(含博士后研究)申請(qǐng)時(shí)年齡不超過50歲，應(yīng)為高等學(xué)校、企事業(yè)單位、各級(jí)行政單位、科研單位的正式工作人員。 高級(jí)研究學(xué)者申請(qǐng)時(shí)年齡不超過55歲，除應(yīng)符合訪問學(xué)者的申請(qǐng)條件外，還需具備以下條件之一： ①國(guó)家重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室、教育部重點(diǎn)實(shí)驗(yàn)室、國(guó)家工程(技術(shù))研究中心骨干; ②“長(zhǎng)江學(xué)者”特聘教授或教育部當(dāng)年確定支持的創(chuàng)新團(tuán)隊(duì)中的骨干或“新世紀(jì)優(yōu)秀人才計(jì)劃”入選者及其他人才計(jì)劃入選者; ③教育部批準(zhǔn)的國(guó)家重點(diǎn)學(xué)科學(xué)術(shù)帶頭人; ④中央國(guó)家機(jī)關(guān)、地方行政管理部門、國(guó)有大中型企業(yè)高級(jí)行政管理人員。 其中教學(xué)科研人員應(yīng)為教授、博士生導(dǎo)師;中央國(guó)家機(jī)關(guān)、地方行政管理部門管理人員應(yīng)具有副司局級(jí)(包括副司局級(jí))以上行政職務(wù);國(guó)有大中型企業(yè)管理人員應(yīng)具有相當(dāng)于副司局級(jí)(包括副司局級(jí))以上行政職務(wù)。
國(guó)家公派留學(xué)人員獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金資助內(nèi)容
資助內(nèi)容主要包括一次國(guó)際往返旅費(fèi)及獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金生活費(fèi)，其中獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金生活費(fèi)是指國(guó)家公派留學(xué)人員在國(guó)外學(xué)習(xí)期間的基本生活費(fèi)用，
包括：伙食費(fèi)、住宿費(fèi)、交通費(fèi)、話費(fèi)、書籍資料費(fèi)、醫(yī)療保險(xiǎn)費(fèi)、交際費(fèi)、一次性安置費(fèi)、零用費(fèi)等。具體資助標(biāo)準(zhǔn)按教育部、財(cái)政部有關(guān)規(guī)定執(zhí)行。
此外，對(duì)少數(shù)赴國(guó)外一流高校，一流專業(yè)攻讀博士學(xué)位人員，如其學(xué)科專業(yè)確為國(guó)家急需、且難以獲得外方學(xué)費(fèi)資助，特別是人文及應(yīng)用社會(huì)科學(xué)專業(yè)，可提供學(xué)費(fèi)資助。
當(dāng)然與自費(fèi)留學(xué)相比公派出國(guó)留學(xué)的條件會(huì)很多，且名額有限，所以一般有條件的學(xué)生都會(huì)選擇自費(fèi)留學(xué)?？催^上述條件后，覺得滿足要求的學(xué)生可以嘗試申請(qǐng)公派留學(xué)，可以極大的減少出國(guó)留學(xué)的經(jīng)濟(jì)壓力。
