Have you ever had a troubling problem that has left you wondering where to turn for help?
Eve Hobsbawm is a life adviser. She offers advice to people struggling with different kinds of problems, from relationship difficulties to what to cook for dinner. She does this through a website inviting people to email her with their trouble. There’ s nothing unusual about that, except for the fact that Eve is only eight years old.
This junior problem-solver, who also goes by the name “Miss Eve Mouse”, lives in London with her parents. Not only is Miss Mouse willing to lend an ear to her clients(委托人), she will also offer them a helping hand… for a fee of course. She charges between 10 pennies for advice on little, everyday worries and 1 pound for tougher problems. Her areas of expert--if not of experience—are: “Problems about love, life and work-life balance.”
A problem shared is a problem halved, but Eve can' t always help. A note on the site states that she can't answer questions like “Does space ever end?” and she won't solve “schoolwork-related problems(especially not math).” She explained to the Guardian newspaper that she was inspired to set up the company by her father who runs a tech start-up. Eve said: “As soon as I saw his business and understood the kinds of things businesses do, I thought that' s what I' m going to do.” But since setting up her company in December she has been so busy with messages that she almost has had no time to do her homework. So she has decided to take a step back for the moment.

24. What will Miss Eve Mouse probably do next according to the end of the passage?
A. She will set up a company
B. She won’t solve problems for a period
C. She won’t solve problems for a period
D. She will step back in front of problemsB
Families can be made up of all kinds of different people(or in this case, fish). That’s the big idea behind the recently-released movie, Finding Dory.
Finding Dory is the sequel(續(xù)集)to the very popular movie Finding Nemo, which came out 14 years ago. Both are cartoon movies.
In Finding Dory, a forgetful blue fish named Dory becomes lost, and must be reunited with special people in her life. likeable Dory has short-term memory loss, which means that she can remember things that happened a long time ago, but can’t remember things that just happened. It’s a condition that causes trouble when she becomes lost, because she has trouble remembering directions like “turn left and then right.” Thanks to her good friends like the fish named Nemo, and his father, Marlin, she finally finds her way back.
Finding Dory is a beautifully drawn film that is attractive to look at. And, although the title gives away some of the plot(情節(jié)), there are enough turns throughout the movie to make it interesting.
Much of the film takes place out of water---in a marine wildlife centre and even on a highway—so the filmmakers had to be very creative about finding ways for the fish to move from place to place. At one point, Dory is in a coffee pot full of water, carried by a very clever octopus(章魚(yú)).
Finding Dory has been very popular with audiences since it opened on June 8,2016. In fact, it has already made 6.2 million in ticket sales.
The characters in the film were “voiced” by popular actors including Ellen DeGeneres(a talk-show host) as Dory and Ty Burrell (Phil Dunphy on TV’s Modern Family) as a Beluga whale.
Ellen DeGeneres has waited a “long, long, long, long, long, long time” for the next film in the Nemo series. She said in a media release from the film’s creators, Disney/Pixar, “It’s got a lot of heart, and it’s really funny.”
25. What is the purpose of the passage?
A. To tell the readers about Dory
B. To introduce a film to the readers
C. To describe the plot of Finding Dory
D. To make a comparison between Finding Nemo and Finding Dory
26. Which statement is TRUE about Dory according to the passage?
A. Dory becomes lost because of her memory loss
B. Dory’s father, Marlin, helps her find her way back
C. Dory like to move from place to place
D. Dory’s home is a coffee pot full of water
27. Finding Dory is popular with audiences mainly because ____________.
A. it’s about a forgetful blue fish
B. it’s the sequel to the movie Finding Nemo
C. it’s a beautifully drawn film with many turns in it
D. the characters in the film were “voiced” by popular actorsC
Getting paid to stay in bed all day sounds pretty good. But what if someone offered you ,000 to stay in bed for two months? That’s the deal that a medical research team in Toulouse, France, is offering to 24 volunteers. Those volunteers must be men between the ages of 20 and 45 who are in perfect health and physically active.
Researchers at MEDES, the Institute of Space Medicine and Physiology, are looking for volunteers to help them study the effects of weightlessness on the human body by spending 60 days lying down. Lying in bed isn’t exactly the same as being weightless, but the effects on the human body are similar.
When astronauts spend a long time in an environment with no gravity, like the International Space Station ,their bodies are affected in many ways. After a couple of months on the ISS, astronauts’ hearts don’t beat as hard. Their muscles become smaller and weaker because they no longer have to work against gravity. Their bones may break more easily. There may also be changes in the astronauts’ immune(免疫)systems and sleep habits.
Dr. Arnaud Beck, the doctor in charge of the study, said his goal is to measure the effects of weightlessness, and also to find ways to prevent problems.
The study will take 88 days altogether. During the first two weeks, the volunteers will be measured and tested about their levels of fitness and strength. Then they will spend 60 days lying in bed with their heads slightly lower than their bodies.
They will have to do everything while lying down, including eating, brushing their teeth, and going to the bathroom. Dr. Beck said the rule is that they must have at least one shoulder touching the bed at all times.
Half of the volunteers in the study will be taking medicine containing special food supplements(補(bǔ)充物)several times a day to see if they help reduce the health problems caused by weightlessness.
The last two weeks of the study will be spent taking more measurements and trying to build up the subjects’ strength again.
28. All the volunteers are required to __________.
A. be healthy and energetic
B. stay in bed for 88 days
C. take medicine several times a day
D. have only one shoulder touching the bed
29. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Astronauts have to lie in bed when they are in the space station
B. The volunteers will have to do everything while lying down
C. The volunteers will live in an environment with no gravity
D. There are altogether three stages in the study
30. The passage is mainly about___________.
A. the medical research on lying in bed
B. the medical research on weightlessness
C. the study on astronauts’ bodies and health
D. the study on young men’s fitness and strength第二節(jié) (共5小題;每小題2分,滿(mǎn)分10分)

34 , which give you a better deal for your money. Once you check in, ask if you can get one of these rooms. This is easier if you show up close to check-in time, but before the flood of guests show up to get their keys. You can also call ahead and request a corner room.
Bring your own snacks or hit the grocery store.
Anything is better than the rates for items in the mini bar. The prices are shocking and don’t even think about trying to replace it with the same item later.

Dear Editor,
Knowing that you are gathering opinions on the post-2000’s generation, I’m writing to share my idea.
As teenagers ,many of them are dependent on their parents in life or teachers in study. Worse still, lacking the ability to control themselves seems to be common among them. However ,they are fond of new things, ready to accept and try them, which makes them ore creative. Moreover, they treasure friendship and are good at communicating with others.
They are such a promising generation, I strongly believe, that they will create a better future with proper guiding.
Best wishes!
