  You're getting on my nerves.你又開(kāi)始做讓我心煩的事了。

  Nerve:神經(jīng);Get on my nerves:觸動(dòng)我的神經(jīng),讓我心煩。這句話比較口語(yǔ)化,用途很廣,既可以在真生氣時(shí)用,也可以在嬌嗔撒嬌時(shí)用。還可以說(shuō)You're starting to get on my nerves.

  You're really irritating me.你真讓我煩哪!

  Irritate表示使人心煩,讓人著急,使人生氣的意思。

  Calm down.鎮(zhèn)靜一些。一般是對(duì)精神上處于不安定狀態(tài)的人說(shuō)的話。例如:

  A:Oh my God! Oh, no! What am I going to do!?哦,天哪!哦,不!我該怎么辦呀!?

  B:Just calm down.鎮(zhèn)靜一點(diǎn)!

  C:What are you doing? You are driving me crazy!你簡(jiǎn)直要讓我發(fā)瘋了!

  D:Hey, you have to calm down a bit.引申用法:abit:一點(diǎn);cool down別緊張,冷靜點(diǎn)。cool的本意是涼的,在這里的意思是冷靜下來(lái)。當(dāng)對(duì)方火氣很大時(shí),你就可以用cool down來(lái)勸免一場(chǎng)舌戰(zhàn)。

  That's not an ice thing to say.你這樣說(shuō)也太失禮了。當(dāng)你聽(tīng)到不敬的話語(yǔ)時(shí)就可以用這句話來(lái)反擊。例如:

  A:Why are you so stupid?

  B:Hey,that’s not an ice thing to say.

  引申用法:

  Don't over do it.別說(shuō)得太過(guò)分了。

  比如有人沒(méi)禮貌地說(shuō):Why are you so fat?你就可以用上面兩句予以回?fù)簟?/p>

  Don't get so uptight1.何必當(dāng)真了呢?用up tight來(lái)表示“緊張的”、“焦急的”、“在意的”狀態(tài)。生活中朋友之間可能會(huì)開(kāi)開(kāi)玩笑,如果朋友當(dāng)真了,你就可以說(shuō):Hey, don’t get so uptight.表示:別太在意啦,我剛剛只是開(kāi)玩笑的哦。例如:

  A:What? You mean I'm too short?什么?你是說(shuō)我太矮了?

  B:Don't get so uptight.別當(dāng)真嘛。

  引申用法:

  Don't get so worked up.放松點(diǎn)兒。

  Don't be so stiff.別這么較真兒。

  Loosen up.隨便點(diǎn),放輕松。

  I didn't mean to hurt you./ I meant no harm.我沒(méi)有故意傷害你的意思。

  另外還能用Kick back!表示放松點(diǎn)兒,悠閑自得地、放松地、舒適地。含有不緊張,精神上放松的語(yǔ)感。Just relax、Take it easy、Just hang loose等都是放松點(diǎn)的意思。例如:

  A:Kick back, make yourself at home.隨便些,就像在自己家里一樣。

  B:Thanks. 346. Can't we talk it over?我們就不能好好談?wù)剢?

  talk over表示“通過(guò)相互談話達(dá)到了相互理解”。有人對(duì)你兇巴巴地說(shuō)話時(shí),你可以先用calm down讓其冷靜下來(lái),然后了解原因的時(shí)候,你就可以說(shuō):Can’t we talk it over?

  例如:

  A:It's over. Get out!一切都結(jié)束了!給我出去!

  B:Can't we talk it over?

  引申用法:Let's work it out.我們好好解決這件事吧!這里work out的意思是解決。

  Let’s try to get along.我們?cè)囍煤孟嗵幇伞?/p>

  Let’s be nice to each other.我們還是以禮相待吧。

  Let's forgive and forget!過(guò)去的事就讓它過(guò)去吧。

  這里的forgive指原諒,forget指忘記。

  引申用法:Let by gones be bygones.諺語(yǔ),意思是過(guò)去的就讓它過(guò)去吧。

  Can't we patch things up?我們就不能和好嗎?

  用patch up表示平息爭(zhēng)吵與不合。還能說(shuō):Isn't there any way we can patch things up?就沒(méi)有什么辦法讓我們和好嗎?

For example, it is not enough to know you want to eat differently or that you want to lose weight. Motivation can be defined as an impulse to channel energy and action toward a specific goal.
