A toy
Describe a toy you enjoyed in your childhood.
You should say:
what the toy was
when you first got it
whether it was a popular toy with children
and explain why you think the toy is special.
When I was a child, my favorite toy was an action figure(玩具人)called ultraman. It was from a Japanese cartoon on TV which all of us used to watch. I remember begging my mother to buy me the little robot so that I could play with my friends during break at school.
It was a 30-centimeter-tall plastic action figure and it cost my mother a lot of money at the time, which was ridiculous for a simple toy. However, every one of my classmates had one, so I really insisted on having one too.
That was a long time ago, but I still remember it had a red armor(盔甲)and it held a sword and a shield. The robot had joints which allowed it to rotate and swing its arms.
I remember how we used to make the action figures fight with each other after school or on the weekend. We would imitate the cartoon heroes and monsters we had watched and make them fly around our universe. We pretended to be the superheroes saving the world form destruction by alien monsters. It was a lot of fun and we spent untold hours imagining different plots from adventurous stories in which our action figures would attack each other.
Until today, I keep this toy as one of my favorite gifts. It is not only because it is a great action figure and left me too many beautiful memories of my childhood, but also because this toy has special sentimental value to me.
{背景知識(shí)}

THINKING LIKE A LEADER: WISDOM
Effectively thinking about wisdom is the very essence of becoming a SmartLeader! Wisdom has been recognized throughout time and across cultures as the most sought after quality of a leader. Long ago, the ancient leader King Solomon wrote, "It's much better to have wisdom and understanding than to possess gold and silver." SmartLeaders know that wisdom is one of the BIG ideas about which they must think.
WHAT IS WISDOM?
Wisdom is a quality that is easily recognized but difficult to define. To effectively think about wisdom means that we must first define wisdom. In its most basic form, wisdom is timeless knowledge. It is knowledge that is as true today as it was 16 centuries ago and will be true in the next millennium. Such timeless knowledge is an unique combination of experience and knowledge. The 16th Century proverb "Experience is the father of wisdom," is only half-right. If the father of wisdom is experience, its mother is knowledge.
SOURCES OF WISDOM
As SmartLeaders, we are constantly on the look out for wisdom - but where do you find it? To answer this question, we asked the SmartLeaders in our network to share their sources of wisdom (remember, SmartLeaders understand that sharing wisdom is a mark of a wise leader!). The overwhelming majority of our network said that they turn to The Bible to find wisdom. We concur! One of the most timeless and sustainable sources of wisdom is The Bible, particularly the Book of Proverbs and the sayings of Jesus in the Gospels.
